» culture of peace:  There is so much going on for a better world all around us that the mainstream media never shares. Throughout history, there have been many social movements for change … for democracy, for the abolition of slavery, women’s rights, for peace, for the environment … Many advancements have been made, but each of these causes is just part of larger wish for a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.

» pax christi:   Pax Christi came into existence at the end of World War II. Building on the initial inspiration of Madame Marie-Marthe Dortel-Claudot, a small group of French men and women, inspired by the Gospel, had the vision, the faith and the courage to foster a movement for reconciliation.

» movements of peace: Movements of Peace is a community of normal people who wish to link their individual daily practices of inner peace to create a field of peaceful consciousness capable of transforming and dissolving negative energies and influences within a specific region. This in turn, changes the entire world.

» united for peace and justice: United for Peace and Justice is a coalition of more than 1400 local and national groups throughout the United States who have joined together to protest the immoral and disastrous Iraq War and oppose our government’s policy of permanent warfare and empire-building.

» culture of peace: The United Nations in a series of actions and publications to launch the 21st Century, has called for a transition from the culture of war to a culture of peace.

» sojo: Sojourners ministries grew out of the Sojourners Community, located in Southern Columbia Heights, an inner-city neighborhood in Washington, D.C. The community began at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, in the early 1970s when a handful of students began meeting to discuss the relationship between their faith and political issues, particularly the Vietnam War. In 1971, the group decided to create a publication that would express their convictions and test whether other people of faith had similar beliefs.
