apples and oranges 

The other day I was sitting on the balcony of my apartment enjoying a melon sandwich and a great banana microbrew.  I like watching humans interact in the pool it can be very interesting.  (This is a little side note – human males, if you are over 200 lbs, and have a stomach bigger then your chest and it hangs over your belt, please do not wear Speedos – and human females, the same can be said about two piece suits.  When we see you we lose a great deal of our lunch, which we paid good money.)  As I was watching, two human males were debating over something silly when one said, “That’s apples and oranges.”  He used it in a way to say that two things were different.

Now, it could be my worldview – Punk Monkey’s have a very different worldview – but I had a hard time seeing the difference between apples and oranges.  In fact, having a worldview developed based on being a Punk Monkey – I see that apples and oranges have more in common then not – for example:

Both are fruit

Both come from trees

Both have pits you can spit

Both have a protective skin

Both are sweet

Both are sour

Both make great juice

Both can be juggled

Both can be tossed at unsuspecting humans

Both can be used as balls

Both are filled with vitamins

Oh, sure they may be different colors, but that does not matter, does it?  Besides, if all we want to do is find out haw different things are, life won’t be worth living.
