the trees will soon give birth to an explosion of color
embracing all life,
what could be missing?
life will focus on the coming time seeking the guidance
of the next season,
what could be missing?
the air will be crisp with the smell of life and the coming
days,
what could be missing?
the sill of the evening will laugh at lost and lonely
days of life,
what could be missing?
a hand?
a hold?
a laugh?
a smile?
a touch?
a smell?
a vision?
a walk?
a time?
a love?
a near?
a far?
a joy?
a cry?
what could be missing?
seeing life through the eyes of another.
feeling love through the heart of another.
knowing joy through the embrace of another.
what could be missing?
when we see deep into self,
do we see that which is missing?
or do we see that which we want,
not ever looking truly into the eyes of another?
