we
have placed the studies in the order they appear in the
scripture. we "quote" based on the
following format. book or letter, section (large
number), line (as appears in a traditional bible); page
you will find the scripture in the message - we like the
idea of the page - it forces us to read what comes
before and after, and not just a single line. all
our studies are offered in biblical context. this
means we try hard not to take a line and make it a rule
- it's an all or nothing thing for us.

section 13:
line
34; page 222 of the
message:
it's like the
old tina turner song - "what's love got to do with
it?" when jesus tells us to love each other
as he loves us, what does that mean? it means we
need to develop an unconditional love; a love based so
purely on our willingness to sacrifice all we have for
others. as we look past the 911 tragedy we see
those who love in this way. men and women who
willingly gave their lives for others - leaving people
they knew, for those they never meet. this is the
love of christ. love has nothing to do with
physical relationship - it is not sexually driven.
when we confuse "sex" with "love" we
get mixed-up big time. remember, you can love and
never have a sexual relationship and you can have sex
and never love. to love as christ loved - go
beyond yourself and enter the uncomfort of another.
questions:
how
many song titles can you think of with the word
"love" in it?
getting
past you - how can you get into the uncomfort of
another?
list
all that you think love is, and is not?
