even
the crazy
it was like
any other day - joe had fifty things to do, and only ten
minutes to do them all. as he was driving along,
managing to keep an eye on the road between the PDA,
cell phone and laptop, when all of a sudden BANG - joe's
tire blew. the sudden shock of his tire blowing
caused him to run off the side of the road. as he
sat there trying to get composure, he tried to call on
his cell phone for help - but he was a dead area, and
could not reach anyone. so he decided to do the
next best thing - he was going to change the tire
himself.
as he got
out of the car he noticed he was in front of the state
insane asylum. shaking his head, and questioning
why he took this route, he opened the trunk of the car
and pulled out the jack, the tire and the lug wrench.
as he set the jack up, he stared to talk with himself -
he was complaining and finding fault with everything -
everything. finally, as the car was raised and
resting, joe started to take the lug nuts off the tire -
as he did, he scraped his knuckles and banged his hand -
what was a simple task was made harder by his anger and
pain. as he finally got the tire off, and the lug
nuts set aside, he dropped the lug wrench, hitting the
hubcap he kept the nuts in causing them to roll out of
the cap and down sewer hole. this made him even
angrier - if that could happen.
as he sat
on the side of the road with his head in his hand, he
noticed a man sitting behind the gate watching him -
"call a tow truck" joe asked. "I
don't have a phone - I'm an inmate>' the man
answered. "great!" joe said in a very
sarcastic voice. dropping the lug wrench, joe go
up to walk home when the man behind the fence asked what
happened. joe, disgusted, told the story.
the man shock his head and said, "why not take a
lug nut off of each of the other three tires. you
will have three lugs on each tire. there is a gas
station up the road about a mile and you can buy a new
set of lugs to replace the once you lost."
joe looked shocked. "how do you know this
stuff" joe asked. the man smiled and said,
"I'm crazy, not stupid."
